A design study inspired by extreme environments

Hyundai describes the CRATER Concept as a compact off-road SUV created to demonstrate capability, durability, and an adventurous spirit. The model is presented as a “show vehicle” — a design study aimed at pointing toward the brand’s future directions in the adventure-oriented vehicle segment.

Inspired by extreme natural environments, the concept was developed at the Hyundai America Technical Center (HATCI) in Irvine, California. According to Hyundai, the vehicle was designed to reflect the same toughness found in the brand’s XRT versions, including the IONIQ 5 XRT, SANTA CRUZ XRT, and the new PALISADE XRT PRO.

Launch with global livestream

The press conference dedicated to the CRATER Concept will be livestreamed worldwide, starting precisely at 9:45 a.m. (PT). Off-road fans and enthusiasts will be able to watch the reveal in real time and explore Hyundai’s new design proposal for the adventure-focused segment.
